Job Title: Proposal Engineer – Oil and Fat Industry
Location: Gurugram (Haryana)
Department: Sales / Proposal / Engineering
Reporting to: Proposal Manager / Head of Sales
Salary Range – 1.5 lac to 2.5 lacs pm.
Job Summary:
The Proposal Engineer is responsible for preparing technical and commercial proposals for projects in the oil and fat processing industry.
This includes understanding client requirements, creating customized solutions, coordinating with various internal departments,
and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality proposals.

Key Responsibilities:
• Proposal Preparation:
Analyse RFQs, tenders, and client specifications.
Prepare technical proposals, equipment selection, and PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams).
Develop BOQs, cost estimates, and commercial offers.
• Technical Understanding:
Interpret process requirements for oilseed crushing, solvent extraction, refining, hydrogenation, fractionation, and specialty fat production.
Liaise with process engineering to ensure accuracy in the proposed solutions.
• Coordination & Communication:
Coordinate with sales, procurement, design, engineering, and project management teams.
Participate in client discussions, technical clarifications, and negotiations.
• Documentation:
Create and maintain standard proposal templates and documentation.
Ensure all proposals comply with company and client standards.
• Market Intelligence:
Monitor industry trends and competitor offerings to ensure competitive and innovative solutions.
Qualifications
B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute.
Additional certification in Cost Estimation, Project Management, or Proposal Engineering will be an advantage.
Experience
• 3–7 years of experience in proposal engineering, preferably in the oil and fats or edible oils sector
• Proven record of accomplishment in proposal drafting, cost estimation, and client coordination for turnkey engineering projects.
Key Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of oil and fat processing technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in proposal writing, costing, and project estimation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs.
• Familiar with MS Office, AutoCAD, and ERP systems (SAP or similar).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Experience:
• Prior experience with process plants for:
Edible oil refining
Solvent extraction
Specialty fats
Oleo chemicals
• Exposure to international proposal/tender processes is a plus
