Ensure in-process quality control in press shop and weld shop
Monitor first-off, in-process, and last-off inspections
Identify and control press defects (burrs, cracks, thinning, dimensional issues)
Identify and control weld defects (spatter, burn-through, undercut, weak welds)
Implement and monitor process control plans at shop-floor level
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for internal rejections and line issues
Coordinate with tooling and maintenance for die, fixture, and weld gun issues
Ensure defect containment and corrective actions at source
Maintain shop-floor quality records and inspection formats
Support customer concerns related to press or weld quality
Customer Interaction (Limited & Technical)
Support customer audits focused on process capability and defect control
Provide technical inputs for press and weld quality issues
Ensure timely closure of customer-reported defects
Preferred Candidate Profile
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering 5-10 years experience in press shop and/or weld shop quality
Strong understanding of sheet metal forming and welding processes
Hands-on knowledge of gauges, fixtures, and inspection methods
Ability to identify defects on the shop floor, not from reports
Practical, detail-oriented, and execution-focused mindset
