The Organic Brake Pads Production Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the manufacturing process of organic brake pads to ensure production targets, quality standards, cost efficiency, and safety compliance are achieved.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of friction material manufacturing, molding, curing, grinding, slotting, chamfering, and quality testing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Execution
Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
Ensure achievement of production targets as per dispatch plan.
Monitor mixing, hot press molding, curing, grinding, and finishing processes.
Optimize manpower and machine utilization.
Reduce cycle time and increase productivity.

Process & Technical Management
Oversee formulation and mixing of organic friction materials.
Ensure proper control of raw materials such as resins, fibers, fillers, and binders.
Monitor pressing parameters (temperature, pressure, curing time).
Implement process improvements for consistent density, hardness, and bonding strength.
Control rejection rates and scrap percentage.

Quality Control & Assurance
Ensure products meet OEM/aftermarket quality standards.
Coordinate with QA team for:
Shear strength testing
Hardness testing
Compressibility
Friction coefficient testing
Noise & vibration control
Implement root cause analysis for defects.
Maintain ISO/TS/IATF documentation compliance.

Manpower & Team Management
Supervise shop floor supervisors, machine operators, and helpers.
Conduct training on SOPs, safety, and quality standards.
Monitor attendance, productivity, and discipline.
Develop a performance-driven work culture.

Maintenance & Safety
Coordinate with maintenance team for preventive maintenance.
Ensure zero breakdown planning.
Enforce safety norms (PPE, machine guarding, dust control).
Ensure compliance with pollution control norms.

Cost Control & Inventory Management
Control raw material consumption as per BOM.
Reduce wastage and rework.
Monitor WIP levels.
Coordinate with procurement for timely raw material availability.

Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily production reports.
Monitor KPIs: OEE, rejection rate, downtime, cost per unit.
Report performance to management.

Required Qualifications:
Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
5–10 years experience in brake pads or friction material manufacturing
Strong knowledge of hydraulic presses, curing ovens, grinding machines
Knowledge of IATF 16949 / ISO systems preferred
