Job Summary
Person will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and hiring construction machinery and arranging transportation services for project sites.
The role ensures timely availability of equipment and logistics at competitive rates while maintaining quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and empanel vendors for hiring of construction machinery (cranes, hydra, TM, excavators, trailers, etc.).
Arrange transportation for machinery, materials as per site requirements.
Obtain quotations, compare rates, and negotiate best commercial terms.
Prepare and release Purchase Orders / Hire Orders as per company process.
Coordinate with site teams for requirement planning and delivery schedules.
Ensure timely mobilization and demobilization of hired equipment.
Maintain vendor database and rate contracts for machinery and transporters.
Track hire period, usage, and billing to avoid excess costs.
Coordinate with Accounts for timely payments.
Resolve issues related to delays, breakdowns, replacements, and disputes.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety norms, and legal documents (RC, insurance, permits, etc.).
Skills & Competencies
Already have good connects & database of Vendors in industry
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
Good knowledge of construction machinery and logistics
Cost control and commercial understanding
Excellent coordination and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet urgent site requirements
Proficiency in MS Excel and basic ERP systems
Qualification & Experience
Diploma / Graduate in any discipline (Mechanical / Civil preferred)
7 years of experience in machinery hiring and transportation in construction or infrastructure projects
Experience in bridge, flyover, or large infrastructure projects is an added advantage

Timely availability of machinery and transport
Cost savings through effective negotiation
Vendor performance and reliability
Reduction in idle time and excess hire charges
Accuracy and timeliness of documentation and billing
