IMPORT OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Import Operations Executive to handle end-to-end import shipment processes.
The candidate will be responsible for managing documentation, customs clearance, duty payments,
and coordination with vendors, CHA, and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely clearance of goods.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education Bachelor degree in Commerce / Logistics / Supply Chain / related field.
Experience 2–5 years of experience in import operations or logistics.
Skills Strong knowledge of customs procedures, Bill of Entry filing, and duty structure.
Familiarity with ICEGATE portal and customs systems.
Good communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel and documentation handling.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Import Documentation & Compliance
Preparation, verification, and filing of Bill of Entry.
Ensure all import documents (Invoice, Packing List, BL/AWB, COO, etc.) are accurate and complete.
Classification of goods under correct HSN Code.
Ensure compliance with customs regulations, DGFT norms, and other statutory requirements.
2. Customs Clearance & Duty Management
Coordinate with Custom House Agents (CHA) for timely clearance of shipments.
Calculation and verification of custom duty, IGST, and other applicable charges.
Ensure timely duty payment and maintain records.
Handle queries/objections raised by customs authorities.
3. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
Regular communication with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, and CHA.
Follow up for shipment schedules, document submission, and delivery timelines.
Coordinate with internal departments (accounts, warehouse, procurement).
4. Shipment Tracking & Logistics
Track shipments from origin to final delivery.
Monitor delays and take proactive steps to avoid demurrage/detention charges.
Arrange transportation from port to warehouse.
5. Record Keeping & Reporting
Maintain proper records of all import transactions.
Prepare MIS reports on shipment status, duty paid, and pending clearances.
Maintain data for audit and compliance purposes.
6. Cost Optimization
Monitor demurrage, detention, and other avoidable costs.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in handling shipments.
Knowledge of DGFT regulations and import licensing.
