About the Role
We are looking for a high-energy Area Sales Manager (ASM) to drive business growth and market penetration for a leading spices brand. The ideal candidate will be responsible for strengthening the existing distribution network, appointing new distributors/dealers, and leading field sales teams to expand market presence across the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
Channel Sales & Distribution Management
Drive primary and secondary sales through the distribution network
Ensure product availability and visibility across General Trade, Modern Trade & Kirana Stores
Monitor distributor stock levels, ROI, and credit management
Strengthen relationships with distributors and channel partners
New Dealer & Distributor Development
Identify and appoint new distributors and dealers
Conduct market mapping to identify expansion opportunities
Handle distributor negotiations and onboarding processes
Expand market coverage and brand reach in assigned territory
Sales Strategy & Execution
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
Execute trade schemes, promotions, and marketing activities effectively
Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends
Develop key accounts and long-term customer relationships
Increase sales volume and market share within the territory
Team Management & Field Leadership
Recruit and develop field sales staff
Conduct regular market visits and joint working with Sales Representatives
Coach and motivate the sales team for improved performance
Maintain strong retailer and distributor relationships
Candidate Profile
Graduate / MBA (Sales & Marketing Preferred)
5–8 years experience in FMCG / Food Industry
Strong experience in Spices, Oil, Staples, or Food Products sales
Proven track record in FMCG Channel Sales & Distribution Management
Experience in handling BTL activities and market activations
Strong understanding of Haryana market and trade channels
Ability to work on Sales Force Automation (SFA) software
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
Willingness to travel extensively (70–80% field travel)
