JOB DESCRIPTION – QMS HEAD RUBBER INDUSTRY

Position: QMS Head – Quality Management System Industry: Rubber Manufacturing / Rubber Moulding / Rubber Components Department: Quality Assurance & Quality Control Reporting To: Plant Head / General Manager

Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) across all manufacturing operations.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and applicable customer-specific quality requirements.
Lead internal audits, external audits, customer audits and certification audits.
Handle customer complaints, root cause analysis, CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) and corrective action follow-up.
Monitor quality performance, rejection rates, customer returns, process defects and rework.
Ensure quality control at incoming material inspection, in-process inspection and final inspection stages.
Establish and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, inspection standards, SOPs and documentation.
Oversee rubber mixing, compounding, moulding, curing and finishing processes to ensure product quality.
Coordinate with Production, Purchase, R&D and Maintenance teams to resolve quality-related issues.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives using 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, 7 QC Tools, FMEA and SPC.
Manage calibration of measuring instruments and testing equipment.
Ensure proper handling of non-conforming products and maintain traceability of raw materials and finished goods.
Lead, train and develop the Quality Assurance and Quality Control team.
Prepare and review quality reports, audit findings, rejection analysis and management review presentations.
Drive supplier quality improvement and ensure incoming rubber compounds, chemicals and other raw materials meet specifications.

Required Skills
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and QMS documentation.
Experience in rubber moulding, rubber components or polymer manufacturing.
Knowledge of rubber testing, hardness testing, tensile strength, elongation, compression set and ageing tests.
Expertise in root cause analysis, CAPA and 8D problem-solving.
Knowledge of FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP and APQP, particularly for automotive customers.
Experience in customer and supplier audits.
Good leadership, communication and team-management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Candidate Profile
The candidate should have hands-on experience managing quality systems in a rubber manufacturing environment, with the ability to improve product quality, reduce rejection and customer complaints, maintain audit compliance and lead the overall quality function.
