Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Quality Control Manager to manage the complete quality control function of a fastener manufacturing facility. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring product quality, monitoring manufacturing processes, reducing rejection and rework, and maintaining quality standards as per customer requirements.
Candidates with hands-on experience in manufacturing screws, bolts, nuts, rivets and other precision-engineered components will be strongly preferred.Key Responsibilities
1. Incoming Quality Inspection
Inspect incoming steel wire and other raw materials.
Verify material grades, dimensions and specifications.
Check supplier test certificates and maintain inspection records.
2. In-Process Quality Control
Monitor quality at every stage of manufacturing, including wire processing, cold heading, thread rolling and finishing.
Conduct regular production inspections and dimensional checks.
Identify manufacturing defects and process-related quality issues.
Establish quality checkpoints and inspection procedures.
3. Final Quality Inspection
Conduct final inspection of finished products before dispatch.
Check dimensions, thread accuracy, appearance and product specifications.
Ensure proper use of measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers and Thread Gauges.
Coordinate hardness, tensile strength and coating thickness tests.
Approve or reject finished goods based on inspection results.
4. Quality Documentation & Systems
Prepare and maintain SOPs, inspection reports and quality checklists.
Handle rejection reports, non-conformance reports and quality records.
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Maintain material and batch traceability.
Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 quality standards.
Ensure timely calibration of measuring instruments.
5. Team & Process Management
Identify recurring defects and conduct root cause analysis.
Reduce production rejection, rework and material wastage.
Coordinate with production, purchase and dispatch departments.
Train production operators and supervisors on quality standards.
Handle customer quality complaints and take corrective action.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance in manufacturing.
Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Strong knowledge of quality inspection and manufacturing processes.
Experience in fastener manufacturing will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of engineering drawings and dimensional inspection.
Hands-on experience with measuring instruments and material testing.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, CAPA and root cause analysis.
Basic computer knowledge, including MS Excel and MS Word.
Good communication, coordination and team management skills.
